I became in love with açai bowls since I found a great smoothie place around my town. They have the best smoothies and vegan goods around here and the hubs and I love to go on the weekends! But to be honest it is pretty expensive and sometimes we like to make our own and experiment with different flavors. This is my favorite recipe and it is as good (or maybe even better ) than the smoothie place around town.
I don’t always add the same toppings, but for the most part, this recipe combination is the best in my opinion. The thickest, the better for me and I like making it in my Kitchen Aid food processor because it just combines all the ingredients beautifully. Make it your own by adding what you like and enjoy the frozen goodness! This is the perfect recipe to make in the warmer days, but I enjoy it all year around. Careful with the brain freeze thought! lol!
Cocoa Açai Bowl
- 1 pack frozen açai puree (I use the one from Trader Joe’s)
- 1 frozen banana
- mix of berries
- 1 tsp maca powder
- 1 tsp cacao powder
- 2 dates for sweetness
- a splash of cashew milk (you can use almond or any kind)
